Filippo Sala TRIBÙ
for drums, percussion and electronics
“Tribù is a solo record, yet anything but solitary.
Filippo Sala builds a ritual at once personal and collective, where the drums become voice, landscape, call.
An intimate, polyrhythmic journey made of layers, echoes and invisible connections.”
- ALTRISUONI ‘25, Diego Andese
Tribù is a solo album.
It is a musical experience by Filippo Sala, who creates a sonic narrative using his main instrument, the drums, supported by a naïve use of electronics.
His unique setup, designed to be played simultaneously, allows him to channel a multitude of voices and timbral suggestions into the music, weaving through the eight tracks.
It is a descriptive, emotional musical adventure, with psychedelic echoes, that doesn’t aim to fit into a specific category, but rather to be a free snapshot of a moment — with the hope that it will be received as a flow of perceptions and sensations.
The album was recorded in September 2022, with artistic production by Filippo Sala and Michele Bonifati.

[…] The charm of the music on “Tribù” lies, in my view, in the way it floats between seemingly opposite dimensions – archaic and modern, ancestral and futuristic – which Sala manages to bring into dialogue by alternating and blending tribal rhythmic passages with electronic soundscapes, now icy and distant, now floating and enveloping.
